Coffee mornings

Throughout the year,

this monthly event raises funds

for a huge variety of charitable causes – local, national and overseas. Very well supported by the community as a whole, they are an opportunity to meet and chat in a warm, safe environment.

A community activity each

month to which all levels of

ability are warmly welcomed.

A light-hearted, but intense atmosphere is the hallmark

of these afternoon sessions.

Polite sandwiches and cakes

are served with tea or

coffee at a suitable point

in proceedings. There are no

prizes, just the satisfaction

of using our

God-given intelligence.

EEEcumenical Contacts

We are an active part of the

Churches Together in the

Ortons group who meet

together regularly,

share worship and support

each other in their spiritual

and social activities.

Peterborough Foodbank

We have been privileged to be

part of the Trussel Trust initiative

for some time now, but recently

offered ourselves as a

Community collection point for

the local Foodbank.

Whenever the Chapel is open,

We will receive goods

and pass them to the

distribution warehouse.

Knitting for charity has opened up a whole new outreach possibility – to those who love to knit and those in need of warm clothing and blankets. A group which has now grown to 20 regular knitters and several others who send finished garments via friends covers a wide range of abilities from simple squares to quite complicated garments. Squares are made into knee blankets for a local hospice or into larger covers for beds, jumpers have been sent to Kenya and Uganda and we are heavily involved in providing warm wear for children from Chernobyl.
